When Sydney was locked down one of the things that helped fill in the time was spending time organising, including the wardrobe.
Everything looked great except for 3 ties, they were cautiously rolled and if moved would lose their shape.
The best solution online was a box that could hold 16 ties, taking up too much space. With some packing cardboard the first tie anchor was created to serve an individual tie.
After the lockdown finished we headed up to a farm at Mangrove Creek NSW. With a lack of wood working skills the first wood Tie Anchor was made, poorly made.
Three months later that same farm would be submerged under 5 feet of water during the worst floods in the region and not too long later be spared from one of the worst fires in NSW history.
The Owner would like you to know “the farm and shed still stand strong”.
The Tie Anchor found it beauty and shape when joining up with the craftsmen at the Waverley Community Med’s Shed. There under master turners with wood and finish experts the Tie Anchor became something special.
My Thanks to Peter Charleton, Ian Dawes, Rodney Goldberg and William Honeyball at the shed.
Finally working with team at Vert Design we brought the designs into the digital production space. Also crafting the finest box to not only to protect and organise, but showcase every feature the Tie Anchor has to offer.
Today Tie Anchor showcase not only the best in tie presentation but what the journey had to offer. Not just to make it but to make it special.
